WJA Trade Show welcomes Drain Trader Magazine as sponsor

Where there is muck there has to be a magazine.

Drain Trader has been championing the drainage industry for more than 25 years, creating a sounding board and forum for business leaders and sewer engineers alike.

The title is now also a sponsor of WJA Trade Show 2025, in recognition of the vital importance of water jetting to the drainage industry. Most types of drain imaginable could not be kept clear without the process.

WJA Trade Show 2025 brings together contractors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers and hirers, and training providers at StoneX Stadium, North London, on Thursday 11th September.

It will showcase all aspects of water jetting and the benefits it providers for industries that include drainage, petrochemicals, oil and gas, industrial cleaning and construction.

In 2024, Simon, who for 18 years had overseen the production of every edition (218 of them), became the magazine’s owner, and is implementing plans that will underpin the title’s continued success.

“We have a robust strategy to grow what is already a popular and thriving niche media title, and we’ve already had a positive response from advertiser and editorial contributors.

“Drain Trader has had a strong partnership with the Water Jetting Association for many years, through advertising support and publishing the WJA’s news, so we were pleased to take up the opportunity to sponsor WJA Trade Show 2025.

“I see Drain Trader as a strong champion of the industries we cover. We want to help the drainage and wastewater management industries to thrive, and the WJA is showing the same sense of purpose for water jetting and the industries that rely on it with its trade show.”

– Simon

Packed with drainage industry news

Drain Trader has grown steadily over recent years, adding readers and developing its offer, not least as online opportunities, like digital news and advertising, have emerged.

By maintaining a strong focus on drainage and water utilities, it has developed a loyal readership, while charting the development of industries that are increasingly making national headlines, thanks to the drive to improve sustainability, water management and environmental protection.

Drain Trader is now a multi-platform magazine. Each issue is packed with industry news, water news, product news, trenchless technology, case studies and much more, published monthly in print, online and via the magazine’s app.

The title also creates commercial digital marketing opportunities for businesses to promote services and products to readers via its popular e-shots and online advertising.

Support for WJA Trade Show 2025

“We’re committed to enhancing Drain Trader. By maintaining our focus on high-quality content we’re confident we can continue to achieve sustainable growth, while meeting the high expectations of our fiercely-loyal readers and advertisers.

“Our support for WJA Trade Show 2025 reflects our proactive approach. We will be going to more events and open days across the UK and Europe. We want to take Drain Trader’s news far and wide.”

– Simon

Drain Trader has always taken a keen interest in news about water jetting technology, accredited WJA training courses, and water jetting case studies as part of its wide range of drainage-related news topics.

The title’s latest edition gives a flavour (if that is the right term) of those topics, including: new information resources for trenchless technologies; new water jetting nozzles that help prevent blowbacks; a case study on sewer management in northern Germany; floating balls that can monitor the health of sewer pipes; and, of course, WJA Trade Show 2025.

New flood industry title

Now Simon and his publishing partner, Donna, have expanded Drain Trader’s horizons with the launch of a sister title, Flood Industry.

It focusses primarily on the growing technical and commercial interest in protecting built assets and the environment against extreme weather events, primarily triggered by climate change.
