Expert speaker line-up finalised for WJA Trade Show 2025

A strong selection of experts has been finalised for the WJA Trade Show 2025 speaker programme, which will shed important light on the world of water jetting.

There will be presentations that intend to lift the lid on the advantages of robotic jetting, and to look beneath the surface of water jetting insurance costs.

Advanced tank maintenance, safe working in confined spaces and latest developments in pump and jetting system technologies will also be topics for debate.

The WJA’s Technical Manager, Gordon Taylor, will also give a talk about latest developments in the association’s codes of practice and water jetting training programme.

Water jetting debate

WJA Trade Show 2025, which is free to attend with free on-site parking, takes place at StoneX Stadium, North London, on Thursday 11th September.

“We see our trade show as being a forum to share ideas and experiences, so we’ve asked each of our speakers to make time for a Q&A during their slot.

“All our speakers are recognised national and global leaders in their fields, so we expect their insights will be welcomed by visitors, who will have ideas to take away and implement in their businesses.”

– WJA Chairman Lee O’Callaghan

WJA Trade Show 2025 aims to bring the world of water jetting into one place, in more ways than one, as there will be exhibitors from Germany, Sweden, and The Netherlands, as well as the UK.

This rich mix of knowledge and experience is also reflected in the speaker programme, which will begin with a talk by Andy Chibeba, Director at First Insurance Solutions, part of global insurance intermediary Brown & Brown.

He will give a talk that focusses on health and safety in the water jetting industry and how First Insurance Solutions can help jetting firms manage their business risks.

Bjarne Axelsson, Account Director at hydrodemolition robot manufacturer Aquajet, will talk about the advantages of robotic jetting systems.

While David Wendel, MD of German environmental technology specialist ETS-Group will speak about emissions-free tank maintenance in the process industries.

Peder Lindstrom, Sales and Marketing Director at global PPE leader TST Sweden, will explain the latest advances in water jetting safety systems, including specialist clothing and workplace protection systems.

TST Sweden is also one of WJA Trade Show 2025’s valued sponsors, alongside decarbonisation, depollution and resource regeneration specialist Veolia, Drain Trader Magazine and Howden Insurance.

Arco Professional Safety is another speaker with a strong focus on safety. The company’s Confined Space Technical Lead, Brian Grunes, will give a talk about best practice in confined space working.

He said: “Clarity of roles in water jetting teams working in confined spaces, having a safe system of work in place, but knowing what to do if something untoward happens are all critical.”

Oliver Newport, Business Development Executive at global insurance broker Howden Insurance, will be answering some important questions about the risks water jetting businesses can be exposed to.

Oliver has passed the WJA’s City & Guilds accredited Safety Awareness Certificate and its Drain and Sewer Practical Module as part of a process of understanding the water jetting industry.

He said: “One big risk, alongside the physical hazards of water jetting, is that contractors may not fully understand the insurance cover they have, and need. The two things may not be the same. Howden Insurance has the expertise to assist in closing that gap.”

Steve Smith, Managing Director of equipment manufacturer Flowplant Group, held a horse race during his talk at last year’s WJA Trade Show.

This year, insights about latest developments in water pumps and jetting systems will be combined with a game show, Splash and Dash, with Steve Smith announcing the winner during his talk.

Enjoy free on-site parking right next to the exhibition entrance. StoneX Stadium is located five minutes from Junction 2 of the M1, just off the A406 North Circular Road.
